How do I get to Lake Sebago?
The camp is located 5 miles north of Sloatsburg, NY, and 45 miles north-west of New York City. Directions can be found here.
Sloatsburg can be accessed by NJ transit or bus from the Port Authority. From you can take a taxi or rideshare to Camp Sebago.
Do I need to be an ACA member to visit?
Yes, you must be a member of the American Canoe Association to visit the camp. Annual memberships start at $40 for adults. Fees are listed here.
ACA members are allowed to bring guests. If you are an ACA member and you wish to bring other club members as guests, please read and comply with guests rules.
Can I visit for the day?
Yes, day visitors are encouraged. There is no charge to use the NBCB cabin or our boats and equipment as a day visitor. However, you still need to pay the ACA day-use fee.
What is the difference between booking the entire cabin and booking per person?
This season members can book the entire cabin on weekdays and on select weekends. Once booked, your group will get exclusive use of the cabin at night during your stay. Remember that other club members are welcome to visit the cabin during the daytime.
On all holiday weekends and other select weekends in July and August members can make per person bookings. Each person must make an individual booking to reserve a bed. You may be sharing the cabin with other guests during your stay.
We hope this arrangement will work for all club members, particularly allowing small groups and those with families to get the most out of the cabin.
How exactly do fees work?
You pay the ACA day-use fee for each day you are in camp. You pay the NBCB nightly fee for each night you stay in the cabin.
For example: If you arrive at Sebago on Saturday morning, stay at the cabin on Saturday night and leave on Sunday afternoon you will pay the ACA day-use fee for two days (per person), and the relevant NBCB Cabin fee for one night.
What else can I do at Camp Sebago?
Apart from paddling or swimming, there are many on-water and off-water events held throughout the season by different New York and New Jersey paddling clubs.
Check out the ACA events calendar for more information.
NBCB will be holding events at the lake this season. Stay tuned for more information.
There are also opportunities for hiking, biking and much more in Harriman State Park.
What if I'm a frequent visitor?
You can purchase a season pass, which can save on daily fees if you plan to visit multiple times.
