Become a member and paddle with us
Become a member to take part in our kayak and canoe trips.
How it works:
North Brooklyn Community Boathouse is a volunteer run, non-profit organization. Individuals pay our annual membership, and get access to all our programing, including our canoe and kayak trips.
We do not rent out boats or provide general boat storage.
NBCB membership is open to anyone 18 or over.
The benefits of becoming a NBCB member are many.
Take part in paddling trips with ACA trained, NBCB trip leaders.
Learn paddling, navigation, and safety skills.
The opportunity to become an Official Paddler; a dedicated volunteer allowed to use club vessels and equipment outside of organized paddles.
Access to our cabin at ACA Camp Lake Sebago in beautiful Harriman State Park.
Involvement and investment in NBCB’s mission to advocate and facilitate public access to our shores, human-powered boating, and environmental restoration of the waterways of North Brooklyn and the surrounding area.
Membership Dues
NBCB keeps its annual dues low to make membership as accessible as possible.
Membership is $50/year. If you are a student or experiencing financial hardship, a $25 rate is available. If that price is a burden, contact us, and we will work something out. We will never allow price to keep someone from reaching the waters.
Dues are assessed on an annual basis based on the date each member joins. If you joined in Sept 2023, your membership lasts until Sept 2024.
Donations above the dues level helps support NBCB, and we thank you.
We do not offer family memberships. Children are allowed on NBCB member trip only if accompanied by a guardian and only with explicit consent of the trip leader. Whether a child can come on any member trip is completely at the discretion of the trip leader.
Our public paddles are child friendly and a great way to bring kids out on the water.
