NBCB has a cabin at ACA Camp Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park. Use of the cabin is reserved for NBCB members who belong to the American Canoe Association. The season runs from early May through mid October.

**PLEASE NOTE**

Due to storm damage in May the NBCB cabin is currently closed.

The ACA camp is open on most weekends for day visitors. You are welcome to use NBCB boats and gear if you visit, and make use of the swim dock, BBQ and other facilities

Cabin and Camp Facilities

The cabin sleeps 4 people comfortably in bunk beds, and can accommodate groups up to 8.

The cabin has cooking facilities, a refrigerator, pots, dishes and utensils. Please bring bedding as only mattresses are provided.

There is an outdoor area with a picnic table, fire-pit and gas BBQ.

There is no running water inside. Toilets, showers and dish washing facilities are located nearby.

The boat club maintains a fleet of canoes and kayaks for use by members, as well as paddles, spray skirts and PDFs. 

The camp has a swimming dock that is manned by lifeguards during the season and has a large communal area for events and guest use.

Camp Fees

The ACA charges a day use fee for the use of all camp facilities.

Adults: $10 / Children: $5 / Guests: $20*

Cabin Fees

NBCB charges a nightly fee for overnight use of the cabin.

  • On weeknights and most weekends you can book the entire cabin for $25 per night.

  • On holiday weekends and other select weekends you can book individual beds at $10 per adult. You will share the cabin with other members during your stay.

  • There is a two night minimum for weekend bookings of the entire cabin from June to September

Booking the entire cabin gives you exclusive use of the cabin at night. Other members are free to visit the cabin and access equipment during daytime hours.

Maximum length of stay is 5 nights.

Cabin and Camp Rules

You must be a member of the American Canoe Association to visit the camp.  Annual memberships start at $40 for adults. Fees are listed here

Children welcome!  Children under 18 years old do not need to be members of the ACA or NBCB to visit the camp and stay at the cabin.

No pets. Unfortunately the park service does not allow pets at their camps within Harriman State Park. Please leave pets at home.

Quiet hours are from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. Please be respectful of other camp users.

Any member using club boats must have previous paddling experience with NBCB. PFDs are required for every person in a boat! 

There is no charge for day use of the cabin. You are welcome to visit the cabin and borrow paddles and PFDs during your day visit. Please be respectful of any guests staying in the cabin overnight.

Making Reservations

  1. Check the cabin availability calendar below to ensure your dates are available. Shared weekends when individual beds must be booked are shaded in yellow.

  2. Enter the names of each person staying directly in the google calendar.

  3. Book and pay for your reservation using the NBCB event booking system (use this link). Cabin booking are entered as week-long or weekends events throughout the season. Find the event that matches your dates to complete your booking.

  4. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions for accessing the cabin once your booking is complete.

**Please Note**: To allow as many members as possible to enjoy the cabin, members can only have two upcoming bookings on weekends at any point in time. You’e welcome to book as often as you like during the week.

Directions to Lake Sebago

The camp is located 5 miles north of Sloatsburg, NY, and 45 miles north-west of New York City. Directions can be found here. 

Sloatsburg can be accessed by NJ transit or bus from the Port Authority. From there you can taxi or rideshare to Camp Sebago.

Access

If you haven’t visited the camp before, we can provide first time visitors with a lockbox code to enter the camp gate. 

Repeat visitors are entitled to a gate key and should ask the Camp Director for a key during their visit.

The cabin has a PIN code entry. Details will be provided in your booking confirmation email.

Arrival and Sign-in

Remember to sign-in at the registration points when you first arrive at camp and each day of your stay.  

Registration kiosks are located in the main car park and the small car park as you first arrive at camp. Use the envelopes provided to pay your daily fees via cash or paypal.

Cabin cleaning and maintenance:

The cabin is maintained by our members. So please ensure you leave the cabin as you found it.

Complete the checkout checklist before leaving the camp at the end of your stay; this will help ensure a good experience for the next paddlers to stay there.

There is no recycling system at the camp; it is advised that you carry out all your recyclable items and recycle of them properly.

NBCB cannot take responsibility for any personal items left behind in the cabin.

We encourage visitors to follow the seven “Leave No Trace” principles.

NBCB reserves the right to deny access to the cabin to anyone who fails to follow these rules.
